Master Shake told me to go in the freezer because there was a carnival in there. There was no carnival, it was a damn freezer! I got freezer burn, and I got mushed up against that chicken.

I don't know what else to call it besides creepy, but the media has done the weird government terminology adoption thing again. See, I still don't have a firm opinion on this whole social security change that's been so heavily discussed of late. Actually, I don't think anyone really knows what would be best for people. I DO like the idea of being able to divert that money to other places besides government social security, but I also think that should be optional; you should be able to still use government social security if you want, unless so few people want to use it that it becomes pointless.

However, that's not really what this post is about. What's creeping me out is how the media started out by calling this "privatization," which is exactly what it is, and "private accounts," which they will be. Then, when the administration decided they didn't like the term "private" (likely because that term polls lower than "personal") started using the latter term. It's almost like they don't want to step on any toes, so they use the administration's terminology to avoid problems. Media Matters has a good rundown of who's using what terminology.

It just worries me that the media at large (including the so-called "liberal media") is so quick to change its tune when the government requests it.
