Via DailyKos, Augusta Free Press says"Yes, we have been through the process for obtaining White House day passes.
And let us just say that it is not at all an easy process to get through.
Needless to say that it is difficult to think that it could have been done using a fake name - the Secret Service needs your real name so it can do a background check on you before letting you inside the gate.
Several phone calls placed over the course of a two-week period were needed to get us inside.
And that was for a one-shot deal. |
Transcript of JeffJim's interview by Anderson Cooper: and a WaPo article:" Aravosis wrote yesterday on his blog that an unnamed television producer says Gannon told him the Iraq war was going to begin four hours before Bush announced it.
Gannon chuckled at that, saying many reporters sensed an attack was imminent because the White House kept delaying the routine announcement that no more news would be made that day. "You could feel it in the air," he said. |
However, | "According to the producer, Gannon specifically told them that in four hours the president was going to be making a speech to the nation announcing that the US was bombing Iraq. The producer told me they were surprised that Gannon, working with such a small news outfit, could have access to such information, but "what did you know, he was right," the producer said today. The producer went on to say that Gannon often had correct scoops on major stories, including information about Mary Mapes and the Dan Rather BUSH/AWOL scandal that this news outlet got from Gannon before any had the information publicly. |
Sounds like alot more than a "feeling it in the air" to me.
Finally, Gannon’s own statements suggest he fed exclusive stories damaging Bush opponents to networks; Bragged of feeding Rather story
