The chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee is working on a bill that would renew the Patriot Act and expand government powers in the name of fighting terrorism, letting the
FBI subpoena records without permission from a judge or grand jury.
Well, good.
Also, I'm getting the feeling this is all some sort of joke. Did you know that the administration's pro-Patriot Act website is lifeandliberty.gov? Does Dick read 1984 and say "hey, neocons! Here's our next idea!"
Here's something cute from that website:
