So I'm up at dawn, puttin' on my shoes. I just wanna make a clean escape; I'm leavin', but I don't know where to.

Dirty Greek - Stephen Hawking on Health Reform in the UK
Politics : Stephen Hawking on Health Reform in the UK

Stephen Hawking has responded to a strange article saying that if he lived in the UK, which he does, he would be ignored by the National Health Service... which he hasn't been:
People such as scientist Stephen Hawking wouldn't have a chance in the U.K., where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless.
Hawking's response to this weirdness?
"I wouldn't be here today if it were not for the NHS. I have received a large amount of high-quality treatment without which I would not have survived."
Of course, there are tons of reasons that article didn't make any sense besides not even knowing Hawking was British. One is that our health care reform bill does not create anything like the wide-ranging NHS, which covers all British citizens.
