I was watching Scarborough Country and a profoundly Christian man (in the modern sense), though I can't tell you who he was, made the following (paraphrased) statement: "Mel made a great movie here, true to life, and true to scripture. I think it's a beautiful thing, and I hope he makes a load of money from it!"
Now, those of you who know anything about Christianity can take your own stabs at that one.
Now, my brother saw the flick tonight, and says that the movie is "two hours of Jesus being tortured. I'd like to see some character development or some more about Jesus' life, but no, it's 2 hours of torture, a crow comes out of nowhere and pokes out some eyes, and satan's in it.
And he has a midget."
