And it's about damn time. The proposed law would give 16 year olds a half-vote and 14 year olds a quarter-vote in state elections. In my opinion, State Sen. John Vasconcellos is exactly right when he says that young folks are better-informed than they were in the past. He argues that internet, tv, and other media allow this, and again, I think he's absolutely right.

The whole point of the revolutionary war was "no taxation without representation," and yet every child who works pays taxes, so they certainly should have a say in what their tax money does.
"Said Assemblyman Ray Haynes: "There's a reason why 14-year-olds and 16-year-olds don't vote. They are not adults. They are not mature enough. They are easily deceived by political charlatans."
Right... unlike adults, who obviously don't have those problems. Time to extend the vote one step further.
