People will listen when they're ready to listen and not before. Probably, once upon a time, you weren't ready to listen to an idea than now seems to you obvious, even urgent. Let people come to it in their own time. Nagging or bullying will only alienate them. Don't preach. Don't waste time with people who want to argue. They'll keep you immobilized forever. Look for people who are already open to something new.

LIAR LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE! I mean, I know that's not a very mature way of putting this but, when it comes to these guys, it's best to fight fire with fire.

So, here's a video clip of Rumsfeld on Face the Nation, and there's also transcript of the show here.
Bob Schieffer: "If Iraq did not have WMD, why did they pose an immediate threat to this country?"

Rummy: "You and a few other critics are the only people I've heard use the phrase 'immediate threat.' I didn't...It's become kind of folklore that that's what happened... If you have any citations, I'd like to see 'em."

NYT's Tom Friedman reading Rumsfeld's own words: "No terrorist state poses a greater or more immediate threat to the security of our people" ... "some have argued that the nuclear threat from Iraq is not imminent [but] I would not be so certain."

Rummy... fumbling now: "Mm-hmm. It--my view of--of the situation was that he--he had--we--we believe, the best intelligence that we had and other countries had and that--that we believed and we still do not know--we will know."
Fun... oh so fun... to watch them squirm, isn't it? I mean, there's no "memory hole" in existense - not yet at least - but the Bush administration seems to be sort of trying to create one on the fly. Unfortunately for them and fortunately for us, however, some of us aren't stupid enough to let it happen.

The internet, gentlemen - perhaps you've heard of it? In case you haven't, allow me to introduce you:

Internet, this is the Bush Administration.
Liars, The Internet.

Learn to fear it, and to fear us.
