Our own little "spy but not a spy" has pleaded not guilty to all the charges against her, still arguing that she is nothing more than an anti-war activist who was trying to help avert a war between Iraq and the U.S.
It starts to look, more and more, like she's being framed by someone in order to divert attention from what she knew and did. Even her father, an ex-gubernatorial candidate for the GOP, has expressed his distaste for the government's position."Lindauer's father, John Lindauer, a former chancellor of the University of Alaska and a failed GOP gubernatorial candidate in that state, told reporters outside the courthouse that the accusations against his daughter are unfair. The Justice Department said Susan Lindauer is the first U.S. citizen to be arrested on spy-related charges involving Iraq.
John Lindauer said he has "always disagreed" with his daughter's stridently liberal politics, but he added, "It's a disgrace that this government would attempt to silence dissent for political purposes." |
Also, Lindauer seems to be planning on revealing alot more information as the trial goes on."Reading from a statement outside the courthouse, Lindauer, a former press aide to several Democratic members of Congress, said, "I never give up on a hard fight." She said that during what federal authorities allege was her "intelligence relationship" with Hussein's agents, she was able to persuade Iraqi officials to submit to FBI interviews, apparently on the question of weapons of mass destruction. But she said U.S. officials would not cooperate.
"There's a lot more that will come out," she said, referring to her trial. |
So, I guess we'll see. She's definitely a bit nutty, as I said before, but she certainly has had contact with Iraqis and high-level American politicians. There's no telling what could happen as far as what will come out from this investigation.
