Who told you love was fleeting? Sometimes men can be so misleading to take what they need from you. Whatever you need to make you feel like you've been the one behind the wheel, the sunrise is just over that hill, the worst is over.

One of my new favorite bloggers, David Grenier, self-proclaimed "Writer, Bowler, Revolutionary," tells us about the Rhode Island Homeland Security Bill which, as he tells us
"right on the first page, before talking about weapons of mass destruction or poisoning the water system or anything else that a rational person might consider “terrorism”, it says “any person who shall teach or advocate anarchy” will go to prison for ten years.
Now, perhaps I'm a bit shady on this so-called "free speech" that we enjoy as Americans, but wouldn't this sort of... overturn that? I mean, I understand that it's the government who is supposedly providing free speech and therefore acting or speaking against said government seems like a breech of contract, except that it's NOT the government who is providing free speech.

Nobody "gives" you free speech. And as such an inborn right, nobody has the right to take that away, either.

Am I wrong? David goes on to suggest (nonviolent) direct action, and I think that what he proposes is a good response for any of the other injustices that we've experienced as a citizenry of late.
"Of course, we’re not just going to roll over and let the government fuck us. We’re going to fight this the right way, the anarchist way. We’re not going to beg politicians to make the right decision. We’re not going to be content with yet another bullhorn-and-chanting rally. At this point, we’re the ones on the front lines, and we’re going to do things our way.

They want to make it illegal to teach anarchy? We’ll hold a teach-in and get 2,000 people to show up.
Damn right, David, and as an advocate of direct action, I think that we should use it more and more until these people realize we're not going to bend over and hand them the vasoline.
