Because as of 2007, over 50% of the world population will be living in cities. Also, by 2030, the urban population is expected to rise from 3 billion to 5 billion. That means that almost the number of people living on the earth right now will be living just in cities by 2030.

I can't even begin to explain how bad this is for us and for the environment. City life is, for the most part, unhealthy and anti-human. This many people living in cities could very well spell the end of normal human civilization. Sounds like a doomsday scenario, I know, but just wait.
