"Those problems of race inequality and gender inequality... those things weren't a problem for the first 95% of human history. Those sorts of things have only existed on a wide scale for the last 5-8 thousand years. So, maybe we should think of this era of inequality as... a failed experiment. ... We all came from Africa, we all came from those communal, small-group societies. There was no hierarchy as we know it. They had gender balance... They prove that we can live a different way.
