The now-famous August 6 PDB, entitled "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the US," was in fact not simply a historical document."-- An intelligence report received in May 2001 indicating al Qaeda was attempting to send operatives to the United States through Canada to carry out an attack using explosives. This information had been passed on to intelligence and law enforcement agencies;
-- Al Qaeda had been considering ways to hijack American planes to win the release of operatives who had been arrested in 1998 and 1999;
-- Osama bin Laden was set on striking the US as early as 1997 through early 2001;
-- Some intelligence suggested suspected al Qaeda operatives were traveling to and from the United States, were U.S. citizens, and may have had a support network in the U.S.;
-- At least 70 FBI investigations were underway in 2001 regarding possible al Qaeda cells/terrorist-related operations in the U.S.

Really? That's funny, because it seems to me that a document that says that Al Queda operatives had a U.S. support network MIGHT BE KIND OF RELATED.
You know, I want to make something very clear here. I don't think that anyone could have completely stopped 9/11 from happening except for the attackers themselves. I do think that it's possible, but I doubt that we ever could have had enough intelligence to know everything that was going to happen. But see, here's the thing. If you made some mistakes, that's OK. I won't be mad at you for screwing up or missing something. Government is just people, and people make mistakes. But when you make a mistake, then you LIE straight to my face, in front of the whole world, I might start to get a little pissed off!
Admit your errors. Don't try and cover them up. That's how you get screwed.
