Diebold, the E-Voting company with strong ties to Republicans and the Bush administration, has admitted to disenfranchising California voters when their voting machines, which they knew to be faulty, screwed up. Thousands of voters lost their chance at making a simple democratic decision.
One mistake is one thing - but knowingly distributing faulty software and hardware that is supposed to carry out one of the most important tasks a citizen has - voting - is unconscionable. This company should be fined, and no one should ever use their hardware again until the software and hardware are thoroughly tested by a third party.
UPDATE: Buh-Bye, says California
