I just want to remind everyone, as Kos points out, that the prison abuses took place in the Fall of 2003, months before the Americans were killed and their bodies defiled in Fallujah. I know that I've already heard ALOT of people, government officials and otherwise, say that this was sort of like revenge for that act. So, I just want to make sure you all know that isn't the case. Hell, I didn't really realize this until tonight.
Also,The report by the International Committee of the Red Cross supports allegations that abuse of Iraqi prisoners by American soldiers was broad and "not individual acts" - contrary to President George W. Bush's contention that the mistreatment "was the wrongdoing of a few."

Donald Rumsfeld will take the fall for all of this, just as Ollie North took the fall in Iran Contra. He'll be one of a very few actual administrators who are punished, and the rest will be the contractors and soldiers, even though the contractors might escape punishment altogether.
